PocketCHIP in 2019, a good idea?

PocketCHIP is a product from Next Thing Co that is like a case for CHIP the single board computer, which include a battery, touchscreen, keyboard and a obviously the CHIP SBC itself.

When you buy a PocketCHIP you get an customized Debian preinstalled on the CHIP which provide a practical user interface for the hardware.

Now first thing first, Next Thing Co is now defunct and that is a problem, as its a full pledge Linux computer with a terminal.
Being a Linux operating software you would want to use the terminal and obviously download new software with apt-get as well as get updates.

This is a problem as since the Next Thing Co is now defunct their repositories are now dead, so you can't get that updates or new software for PocketCHIP.
Particularly if you want to update PICO-8 that comes preinstalled, without updating you are  not able to run the new PICO-8 games from the forums.

PICO-8 is a fantasy console for playing and developing 8-bit games, if you want it you have to pay $15 for windows, mac or linux. You get it free with PocketCHIP and moreover you can download games directly onto your PocketCHIP from your Linux terminal through apt-get like chocolate-doom or prboom and many more.

So how you can fix the issue with you repositories, well there are some mirror repositories that you can use to fix this issue.
Now it is not ideal as in the long run the repositories may get outdated, but for now it has the latest packages till the Next Thing Co's last update.

So there is a mirror repository at : http://chip.jfpossibilities.com/chip/debian/

You can edit your repositories from you terminal by running these commands:
(Check the original post for this solution at https://www.lexaloffle.com/bbs/?tid=32715)
sudo nano /etc/apt/sources.list
## Paste stuff from that post; save
sudo nano /etc/apt/preferences
## Paste stuff from that post; save
## Then, check for updates and install them
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade

So all in all there are certain problems with the PocketCHIP but it is still a novelty item that is worth buying if you want to play around with it.

If you can get your hands on one of these then that is up to you, if you can spare money and time for a handheld gameboy like Linux terminal system.

You can check my video where I talk on the same as well as give my view on PocketCHIP.

Let everyone know if you know some other mirror repositories or better things to do with PocketCHIP.
